Genesis 1

God made the whole world in six days. He made light and dark, sky and sea, plants, the sun, moon and stars, fish, birds and animals. Last of all He made people. Then God rested, and everything He made was very good.

Genesis 2–3

God put Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden and told them not to eat from one special tree. A sneaky serpent tricked them and they disobeyed. Even then, God still cared for them and promised a rescuer would come.

Genesis 6–9

The world was full of wrong, but Noah loved God. God told him to build a huge ark. Noah obeyed and gathered the animals two by two. It rained for forty days, and God kept everyone in the ark safe. Afterwards God put a rainbow in the sky as a promise.

Genesis 12–21

God told Abraham to leave his home for a land he had never seen. Abraham trusted God and obeyed. God promised him a family as many as the stars, and that everyone on earth would be blessed through him.

Genesis 37–45

Joseph's father gave him a special coat, and his brothers were jealous and sold him away to Egypt. Joseph kept trusting God. God helped him understand dreams, and the king put him in charge of the food so many people would not go hungry — even his own family.

Exodus 3–14

God's people were slaves in Egypt. God spoke to Moses from a burning bush and sent him to set them free. After many wonders Pharaoh let them go. When the army chased them, God split the sea and they walked across on dry ground.

Joshua 6

God gave Joshua an unusual plan: march around Jericho once a day for six days, then seven times on the seventh day, blow the trumpets and shout. The people obeyed, and God made the walls fall flat.

1 Samuel 17

The giant Goliath frightened the whole army. Young David, a shepherd boy, trusted God. He took five smooth stones and his sling, and with one stone God gave him the victory.

Psalm 23

David wrote a song about God being his shepherd. A shepherd finds green grass, still water and safe paths for the sheep. Even in dark valleys, the sheep are not afraid, because the shepherd is right there.

Daniel 6

A new law said nobody could pray to God, but Daniel kept praying three times a day at his window. He was thrown into the lions' den. God sent an angel to shut the lions' mouths, and in the morning Daniel was completely safe.

Jonah 1–3

God told Jonah to go to Nineveh, but Jonah sailed the other way. A storm came, and a great fish swallowed him. Inside the fish Jonah prayed and said sorry. God gave him a second chance, and Nineveh listened and turned to God.

Esther 2–8

Esther became queen, and a wicked man planned to hurt her people. Her cousin Mordecai said maybe God made her queen for this very moment. Esther prayed, was brave, went to the king, and her people were saved.

Luke 2

Mary and Joseph travelled to Bethlehem, and there was no room at the inn. Jesus was born and laid in a manger. Angels appeared to shepherds with good news of great joy, and they ran to see Him.

Luke 2:41–52

When Jesus was twelve, His family went to Jerusalem. On the way home they realised He was missing. They found Him in the temple, listening to the teachers and asking questions. Everyone was amazed at His answers.

Mark 4:35–41

Jesus and His friends were crossing the lake when a fierce storm blew up. Jesus was asleep. The frightened disciples woke Him, and He spoke to the wind and the sea — and everything went perfectly calm.

John 6:1–14

A huge crowd was hungry. A boy gave Jesus his lunch of five loaves and two fish. Jesus thanked God, broke the bread, and the disciples handed it out. Everyone ate as much as they wanted, and there were twelve baskets left over.

Mark 10:13–16

Parents brought their children to Jesus, but the disciples tried to send them away. Jesus was not pleased. He said, 'Let the little children come to me,' and He took them in His arms and blessed them.

Luke 19:1–10

Zacchaeus collected taxes and had cheated people. He was too short to see over the crowd, so he climbed a sycamore tree. Jesus stopped, called him by name and went to his house. Zacchaeus was so changed he gave money back and more.

Luke 23–24

Jesus was put on a cross, and His friends were very sad. He was laid in a tomb with a big stone. On Sunday morning the stone was rolled away and the tomb was empty — Jesus was alive! His friends saw Him and were full of joy.

Luke 10:25–37

Jesus told about a man attacked by robbers. A priest and a temple helper walked by on the other side. Then a Samaritan — someone people thought of as an outsider — stopped, bandaged him, took him to an inn and paid for his care.

Luke 15:1–7

Jesus told about a shepherd with a hundred sheep. When one wandered off, he left the ninety-nine and searched until he found it. Then he carried it home on his shoulders and called his friends to celebrate.

Luke 15:11–32

A son asked for his share of the money and spent it all far from home. When he was hungry and sorry, he headed back. While he was still a long way off his father ran to meet him, hugged him and threw a big party.

Matthew 7:24–27

Jesus said someone who hears His words and does them is like a wise builder on rock. The storms came and the house stood. The one who hears but doesn't obey builds on sand, and the house falls down.

Matthew 13:31–32

Jesus said God's kingdom is like a mustard seed — the tiniest seed in the garden. When it is planted it grows into a tree so large that birds come and nest in its branches.
